This is a story of a dog named Blane. His friends never minded him as he seemed pretty plain. He never howled at those crossing by. He never barked or growled at those that stopped in to say hi. He never snapped at a friendly hand. He never tried to bite those he did not understand. He just parked where he stayed and did nothing but play and laugh all day.
One day a pitbull named Cane, decided he would bark insults at the young Blane. The dog just smiled at the wail and playfully wagged his tail. Everyday the dog would pass by with the same song and dance. Taunting him to come out and try to take a stance. The young dog didn't budge but instead stood there smiling like he was no one to judge.
One day Cane decided to show off his stuff and wanted to see how far he could press his luck. He walked up with a smirk and crossed onto the dogs turf. He stopped just short of Blane and, with a smile, said "I am getting inside your house today"
Blane just wagged on and never did stop smiling to the dog. He merely stretched out his back paw and drew a line in the dirt as Cane looked on. "You are welcome up to this point my friend" said Blane with a voice of Zen. He tossed the dog a bone as token of goodwill to be shown. Cane looked down and with a laugh discarded the gesture with a taunting howl. Cane squared his shoulders, teeth glaring down like jagged boulders. Blane smiled more as he sat down on the floor.
The dog lunged towards the line but got caught mid air like he was trapped in time. The pitbull flew back quite a space, back to where he first made his place. "Please take my kind offerring and stop before one ends up suffering" said Blane
The dog payed him no never mind, who was this stupid mut to think he can stop my drive. He lunged again, fury and anger feuling him. Young Blane put his paws up to intercept and with his might jaw caught the pitbull around the neck. As his grip tightened and his breaths getting shortened he could not believe he had been thwarted.
To his surprise the young dog let him up slow and smiled at him as he said "You are free to go"
The pitbull limped away learning something very valuable that day. Just because a dog does not bark or bite does not mean that he does not have the will to fight for what he knows to be right
